Bilston Glen Viaduct Restoration

Bilston Glen Viaduct Restoration

After the track was lifted from it two years after closure, Bilton Glen Viaduct gradually fell into a ruinous state, eventually being blocked off to the public. However for local teenagers the rusty relic remained an exciting assault course. Although neglected, it wasn’t forgotten and in 1998 Kvaerner started the job of restoring the structure as part of a footpath scheme. This film, in two parts, shows the viaduct at various points during the project.
