Going home - the foot soldiers head back down the Longdendale Trail.
On this day in 1879, 147 years ago, crowds gathered at every vantage point to witness the first public train rumble over the ill-fated Severn Railway Bridge.
Forgotten Relics records and celebrates the UK's disused railway structures, still standing as monuments to the period of ambition, courage and endeavour during which they were built.
